Clinical Psychology

My approach is based upon developing an understanding of the individual and building a safe therapeutic relationship.  My therapeutic style is authentic and empathic, and I have a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy. I encourage reflection to increase self-awareness and address underlying issues that are contributing to psychological distress.

My aim is to help people to identify and address unmet attachment and emotional needs, as these inform our underlying beliefs and our emotional and coping responses. These also impact our relationship patterns, emotional difficulties, sense of identity, self-esteem, and can cause difficulties with change as well as result in a range of symptoms and other concerns.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety, complex trauma/CPTSD, self-identity and self-esteem issues, perfectionism, relationship and attachment issues, assertiveness and boundary setting difficulties, and emotion-related difficulties.

I work primarily with adults who have complex/attachment trauma, have emotionally immature or abusive parents, or have experienced family violence from partners/ex-partners.

I incorporate several therapeutic approaches in a dynamic and personalised manner:

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Trauma informed treatment
Attachment-based therapy
Somatic Therapy
Schema Therapy
