Clinical Psychology

My approach is based upon developing an understanding of the individual and building a safe therapeutic relationship.  My therapeutic style is authentic and empathic, and I have a collaborative approach to therapy. I encourage reflection to increase self-awareness and address underlying issues that are contributing to psychological distress.

My aim is to help people to identify and address their unmet emotional needs, underlying beliefs and coping responses; as these often relate to current relationship patterns, identity issues, emotional difficulties, symptom presentations, and other concerns.

I work with a range of issues including self-identity/self-esteem, perfectionism, relationship and attachment issues, attachment trauma, complex trauma, and emotion-related difficulties.  My therapeutic approach employs attachment-based therapy, compassion-focused therapy and trauma informed treatment.

I utilise a number of therapeutic approaches in a dynamic and personalised manner.  These include:
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Schema Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
